Hmmm. Thought I had a better title, turns out I can't edit the title. Alas. My apologies.

So, I'm missing the battery (right) side panel on my 750 Maxim. I've looked around, and while I can find lots of LEFT side panels on ebay, right side panels seem to not exist.

It's kind of gnarly without the panel, though, so I ask:

Are there any guides to relocating that gear; the battery and electrical stuff stashed in there? I'll probably remove the left panel as well (as just one offends my quasi-OCD). Or perhaps someone has a clever idea of how to get ahold of a cover that's not insanely expensive? Or maybe just some reorganization that may look better? I'm not necessarily after an empty space there, but just some way to make it look good that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

    Any ideas?

You can make a cover. It won't look like the OEM cover, but it will look good if you plan it out and put the effort in.
I'd also recommend starting a thread in the for sale/ trade section. Lost of members have parts stashes.

Yeah, that's an option. Considered 3D printing a cover, but my printer's too small and the new one is still ~6 months from being complete. If I don't find anything else, that's always an option. It's just not a very interesting one is all.

I was hoping someone had a more creative way to deal with the stuff in there, though, to pretty it up naked-like, move it, or something of the sort. I'm drawing a blank that way, though. No idea where I'd move it too; unsure of how to pretty it up. Ideally, links to someone else's cool project that included some neat way of dealing with that :)

This is more of a shot in the dark than anything else, but I will post a wanted ad, there. I get the impression, however, that the battery side cover is extremely rare so I don't have much of an expectation of finding one at a non-crazy price.

I have an 83 750 Maxim battery cover available? What year is your bike?
