I'm rather tall and feel a little cramped on my xj750, how far back can I move the seat and still handle the bike well? Is positioning your body straight over the back tire a nono? I wouldn't actually have to move the seat itself, if I moved the saddle of the seat to the back or even the middle instead of the front it seems like it would be a lot more comfortable.

Oh and If I were to buy another seat to make this swapable would any model XJ750 bolt right in to the hinges for the 82 Seca XJ50, or for that matter a smaller XJ?

No. I've got an 82 xj750 maxim and a 82 xj750 seca, and the seat attachments are entirely different. I've no idea what will fit, but I know that even right there the attachments are different.

As to riding position, try riding from the passenger end of the seat, see how that works out for you. If you prefer being back further, maybe just get (or modify yours) a flatter seat, and sit further back?

You can't move the Seat. You CAN reshape the foam.

If you feel cramped riding, you might want to look at adding forward controls. The controls will place your feet and legs in a more forward position.

When you say cramped, i am picturing an adult riding a child tricycle
