82 xj650 speedometer recommendations?

    So I have a bobbed out 82 xj650. It doesn't have a speedometer. Are there any recommendations for just a speedometer that's also fairly easy to install?

    The stock one. In terms of cost, a used gauge cluster will run about the same as a new speedometer, and it's a direct bolt-on part.

    My second choice would be a cable-driven speedometer from a reputable reseller (Chacal, or Mike's XS, or any of the major manufacturers). The correct ratio is 2240 RPM = 60 MPH.

    Third choice is to fit a waterproof GPS. It costs more, but you gain more; just remember to put it in you pocket when you park the bike.

    There are other options, at varying prices and quality. If you're after the look of only having one instrument on the bike you could get an all-in-one unit, so you can have a tachometer too. A tach is a useful diagnostic tool, and necessary on an engine that will quickly run up beyond redline without giving any hint that something is about to go wrong.

    Hi k-moe could you recommend a speedometer tachometer unit that would fit my XJ 900f. Bike was damaged when a car hit the back of the bike so I need a few parts thanks.
