Here I am 3 hours away and not 15hours. Alas, no truck to pack the 900 onto.

Exactly. That'd give me a good reason to get back here again then to get my car

You could get a buddy to bring you back in a truck and pick up your car AND the other bike.

Well. Sadly I am back in Illinois now without a 900. I suppose it's for the best tho. One at a time ya know. There'll be more when I'm ready. And have the truck with me

I showed the 900 to my wife and she looked at me and said "you're moving money around in your head, aren't you?" I sure was, it's just a shame that moving things around doesn't get me any closer, no room to put it, sour grapes, etc...

I sure do.... I have been wanting to get a bike I could put a sidecar on, it's totally a responsible thing to do if it's for family transportation, right?

I wanted the 900 for its block for my turbo.....but the reality is that the chassis on my turbo can't really manage the HP my 650 produces at 18psi so installing a 900 block surely wouldn't make it any safer....besides, that 900 is too nice to tear apart for parts. I would rather see it go to someone who will put it back on the road since I've got no more room for any more bikes. 11 in the garage seems to be my max as long as getting them out to ride them is important to me.

I can visualize your maiden voyage... you straddle the bike, start it up, twist the throttle to hear the turbo whistle, put it in first, give it gas, and the engine, trans, and back wheel rip right out of the frame and head down the road without you, leaving you holding the bars and what's left of the frame...

I have been keeping my eye on that 900, was planning on going to look at it last weekend, it was originally listed at $1800.

But unfortunately I am in the middle of a divorce and the lawyer is raiding my wallet every time I turn around, plus work has been slow. But then again how often does a nice 900 come around for a decent price and local too.

I wrote to the guy this morning since he's relisted it for only 1,100. If you guys don't get moving, I'm going to HAVE to figure a way to fit 13 motorcycles in my garage along with my 2 seater car! My sweetheart thinks I'm nuts because I have a GT750 next to get restored w/ 3 behind it but that bike really is in good starting condition.

He's only 1.5 hr's from me....and I've got 6 tagged bikes...and guess what, one just happens to be a Yamaha...think a cop is going to know better IF I ride like I have a brain?

Hmmmm..... Hey T...how far is Airville from York?

Jeffk, Just go get the bike. You know u NEED it. I'd have never posted the ad had he only been 1.5hrs away from where my son lives. I would've ridden it to his house and picked it up at a later date. Wow. 1100$ has to be a very good deal considering where you live. I miss the northern panhandle of WV (Morgantown) with the exception of the price tag it comes with to live in the area being so close to Pittsburgh as well as being a university town. Now go get the bike and post all sorts of pics to make us jealous

Should be printed on the xj t-shirt, right over the heart. Good advice when shopping and cleaning carbs! Maybe one of those silly rubber bracelet?

FWIW: The guy never wrote back.....and I decided that it strays too far from my original set of requirements at 41K miles...good luck to who ever gets it!!

I have been thinking about selling my 1983 yamaha seca 900. Wanting it to go to someone who will actually appreciate what it is. Since its getting hard for me to ride with my knees.
