I rebuilt the carburetors on my XJ 750 midnight Maxim I had a problem with the enrichment jet in the float ball I finally got a cleaned out but I'm not understanding where the brass tube that comes out of the carburetor main body and goes into the Well jet the gas comes up the the enrichment well goes thru the brass tube in the bottom of carb body (where does the gas exit out ) want to make sure this passage is clear if you take the enrichment plunger out the the passage comes Out the top of the throttle bore

it comes out a hole in the carb throat its a big hole. the enrichment plunger blocks a hole that leads to the brass tube. if you spray up the brass tube and look down the hole you will see cleaner come up .
if you look on page 20 and 28 of the inside your carbs you will see the hole on a mikuni carb shown by the white arrow.
you can see the hole in the hatachi carb throat in page 4 at the 2:00 position

Thanks but the problem i have is if you take the enrichment plunger out yes it comes out the top of the throttle bore throat on the hatachi carb yes i see its a big hole you can stick the red straw of the can of break clean down the hole an it comes out the top of the throttle bore throat in front ot the throttle plate the brass tube is comeing from the bottom of the carb are you saying there is a smaller hole in the bottom of the throttle bore that the break clean would squirt out if you sprayed up into the bottom of the brass tube

look down the enrichment plunger hole on the right side of passage where the bevel meets the shaft you will see a small hole that leads to the brass tube

from out side of carb this is the path of enrichment circuit .
from top where brass plug is the hole under it leeds into the plunger hole.
then it goes left 90 degrees, then turns down 90 degrees to next brass plug then turns 30degrees downward towards the brass tube where passage meest tube. DO NOT REMOVE ANY BRASS PLUGS

006.JPG hole in bottom of enrichment plunger shaft to left click photo you will see it circled in red it goes towards brass plug
If you put your finger over the hole in the carb throat and spray or pour carb cleaner into the plunger hole you will see cleaner pouring out brass tube

I am only a mere mortal when it comes to carbs. Others here breath life into the carbs.
not clear on what you are asking about the floats.
if you want to set the float height (dry set) it is done with carb upside down and from where the gasket sits I think 17 mm is the standard (11/16)
then you do a wet set

    Setting the fuel levels

read link above it also shows how to measure float height. explains the best way to do it is set float then wet set that carb and set the other 3 carbs to that height. and retest wet set

where is the proper place to measure the float level from the carburetor body to the top of float which is really the bottom of the float or I have heard other people say to measure from the bottom of the carburetor body to the little seam in the floats i measured the floats before I disassemble the carburetors an i got measurement of 13/16 the bike was running fine carbs have never been touched I disassemble and rebuilt them because the bike sat for 5 years an were all blocked up

If you're going to wet-set the floats, don't obsess about the dry measure. Get them close and then perform the wet setting.

Measure the wet levels (spec minus actual) and then adjust them dry, using a ruler. For example, if your #1 carb is 3 mm low, take a dry measure, bend the tang to adjust the float by 3 mm. Then, re-check them wet.
