I was 23 when my 1983 XJ750K was new... I've owned it (nearly) 1/2 my life.

Nice looking bike in your profile picture. I've never seen one with the OEM Deluxe Touring package. That was about a $1000 option in 1983.

I wasn't sure of your age but was thinking you had to be a pretty young to hang on to those handlebars and do a dismount during your recent incident. My old weak hands would have put me face first in her windshield, which I suspect would have been a worse outcome. I'm a 55, 27 years older than the XJ.

I was reminded the next AM that I’m not as young as I once was. I recall being sore the next day in my late teens after riding dirt bikes all day, can’t imagine how I’d feel now if I did that :D

I'm 56 and still ride dirt bikes all day, KTM EXC525 the Godzilla of dirt bikes. My brother is 63 and still at it.
single track trail riding which gets pretty knarly. My cousin is 57 and represented Canada for the ISDE in Poland and France, not many 20 year olds can keep his pace.
Sore, you bet. Fun, oh ya!

My oldest talked me into going on about an hour trail ride tonight on the KX250s......only a few small "ditch" jumps, but lots of bumps and knocks.......already feeling it in my arms and back...tomorrow might be kind rough

I bought it in 1987 from a (part-time) mechanic at the local Yamaha Dealer
Here is what it looked like then:
