#1 is a disaster, and #2 is an xj550. I'm still amazed at the number of people who don't even know what they're selling.

Total mismatch of:
-colors
-seat-to-backrest texture/weave
-Rear signals to correct front signals
-color/style of rear shocks

Then the positioning of the front turn signals, and the wrong reflectors......

BUT WHAT I FIND MOST INTERESTING IS THAT HE IS SELLING THE SAME BIKE TWO DIFFERENT AUCTIONS.

Really? I'm supposed to believe they are not the same bike??? Two different ones with everything identical, except one has the hang tag turned over, the mileage is only a few different, and a side cover removed?!?!?

The fairing 650: It has a Maxim X emblem on the side cover. Does that make it more valuable? It also has a sissy bar that looks like a wrought iron railing. That's gotta be worth something!

The whitewall Seca: the tank and side panels are whitewall too, that's harder to fix.

Holy crap... $7K???? I really love my Silver 750 shown at left and it kills me when I see these cut up jobs.
It's basically my $1200 bike, with more oil leaks than mine, with a bunch of mods I would never want... $700 if that....

 

I noticed that the seller didn't list the mileage, but I bet yamaha could sell me a bike with 0 miles and a warranty for 6900$. That seller is definitely optimistic!

 

that's a good scam. you post that add in several cities and keep a list of who was interested. Then you post a add to sell a list of names and email addresses of stupid people who have more money than brains

 

less parts = more money at least the air box is still there , did not have the side covers so put some tin in its place and got rid of tach and speedo.
paid a shop to do the work

How did he qualify it having an additional 15k miles after he had the dials and indicators removed as he says??? I’d like to say I’ve seen this bike before on Pinterest but idk. There’s a lot of them there like that. I do like the aesthetics of it but I’d like an indicator/speedo unit somewhere. Oh. And maybe a mirror. Yeah. A mirror would be nice

 

Oh, yeah---- it would make it closer to legal----once it has all the required turn signals back on, too

The Green Bay one is a 550 maxim. For that price, I'd grab it if it were near me -- clean it and flip it.....

The ottumwa one is priced way out of line.

 

Ya I missed that chain drive again on that 550, good eye. Hate when they don't know what they are selling, really makes one wonder if they know anything about the bike.

I am relatively close to GB, at least closer than you. Sadly I can't even afford to pay attention let alone 3 and 1/2 clams for that. But seriously it is a good deal. But isn't that a YICS stamp on it? Thought that those are 82 or later, maybe I could shame him into not knowing what he has and get it for $200!

 

The 550's had the YICS engine. 650 got it in '82-83.

There is another 550 in NY that I just had to tell the owner that he's selling a 550, not a 650.....his reply..." well the guy I got from told me it's a 650 when I got it"
