Does anyone else wish their kids would hurry up and make some so you can go shopping for minibikes?

Have a grandson who just turned 8 and we are trying to resurrect maternal grandmothers Ct70 that has been sitting in a dirty shed for more than 20 years. Right now he has a cheap 4 wheeler with a trailer that he hauls firewood with.

your going to get flack either way, now or later, but it's easier if the bike is there waiting on a rider.
you thinking jap-mini, Briggs motor or maybe thinking ahead to electric ?

I'm really trying to wiggle my way into getting a Hodaka, or Honda, from the late 60's or early 70's.
But on the whole I just want a little kid around again. They tend to make a fella remember how to just have fun.

My grandaughter turned one last week. My son and DIL both ride and have a nice large backyard. My chrystal ball sees a z50 in the future.

    and how old we are:(

as far as a mini bike no the parents can buy that as I do not want to be responsible for any injuries or misuse of the ride.

    I'm not old. I'm seasoned.

As for the safety issue, I've got an acre to ride on and my kid that's most likely to give me grandchildren lives in an apartment. Besides, he and his lady both ride and understand the risks. I'd be no more or less liable if a grandchild got hurt from falling down my stairs than if one got hurt on a minibike, or his/her own bicycle while in my care.

Taught my grandaughter to cycle (without those darned stabilisers) at age 3 and a bit, her brother managed it at 2 1/2. They're both wizzing around - ding ding..

i read somewhere that a child shouldn't wear a motorcycle helmet. had to do with a kids neck muscles not being strong enough to support the extra weight. they recommended
to stick with a bicycle helmet

Really? That's interesting. Starting to get my boy to ride with me. He's a little tentative but will hopeful get more comfortable with it. The xj burns way less fuel than my Yukon

Indeed it does. My opinion still stands (despite my carbine having plastic furniture).

The 10/22? It shoots good for the money. I'd rather have an older Mossberg or Remington bolt gun though.
The NRA match rifles that Savage made were really good too. Hmm.... I might have to find me one.

Not that I recommend them necessarily but I found a used razor electric mini bike for cheap and my 8 year old loves the heck out of it. Biggest issue of course is battery life. Usually by the time the battery is dead I've had enough of watching him almost wipe out in one form or another. Or it's time for dinner hahaha

I have a Honda 50 sitting in a cubby downstairs at dads waiting for the kids to give me a grandkid. As soon as one Otis on the way I’m tearing that beastie apart and getting it ready.

if the prices of those little Hondas keep going up, you might put him through collage with it
