That could be turned into a fine tractor-pulling rig..........I think two blown Hemi engines would fit back-to-back on it.

 

Which one? They both have gas in the tanks.....

 

BTW, lest anyone think it's just a junk tractor in the pic, that is a still frame from a video for a friend of it sitting there idling before I went to mow the orchard with it

 

Allis were always a decent tractor, a bit light in the rear end but plenty of power. Grandpa had a wd45 and a d19. Biggest complaint he had besides the weight was the hand clutch. Some loved it, some hated it. Made pto work like the haybine a bit more of a hassle. I prefer IH red which doesn't mix with his bleeding jd green

An FYI--anyone on coming to the CNYCC#11--be advised the NYS Police have announced a state-campaign this week targeting driving over the speed limit. Be careful. Just a heads up.

 

I would love to be there but getting ready to torture my oldest with yet another family camping trip.

Hey Dave! I am not going to make it again this year. In NC for a bit more but am going to be motorcycle busy..... going to VIR to the races. Good luck with the weather, the troopers (they must have heard all the XJ's were coming) and all the XJ-ing. Maybe next year.....

Won't be a problem for me. Will be going nice and slow! Took the trailer all loaded down for a shake down run... All looks good.

 

So I was really looking fotffor to meeting you all. Got rear ended before i had gotten out of town. Only a minor broken leg, so I'm feeling pretty lucky considering. Being at a stop waiting to turn and getting smacked by a guy going 50 could have been quite a bit worse. Haven't had time to access the bike, but my guess is I'll probably have a parts bike for one of you fine fellows. Have fun everyone and ride safe.

6am - sunny, 47 degrees.... Aiming for 80 today

Nuch arrived about 9am, shortly after that, Crazy Gnat and Smeagl pulled up-- the 650rj ran well this time-- yaay!!! What a fight for that....

Next, Larry pulled in, then Saftie arrived----

11 AM… Elliott arrived on his 700. Just to hang out as well as learn

Chris arrived just before lunch, but could only hang around for an hour as he had to be to Albany by a bit after 1pm. So, he was driving, rather than riding his '83 650 maxim.

The diehards--- time for a late supper

 

All told, we installed 3 sets of engine guards, replaced a whole front brake system, flushed and replaced oil in a set of forks, replaced a set of rear brakes, replaced a rear brake rod, adjusted a set of front brakes, and some other small adjustments. Then ate a lot and had a good time.

I'm all worn out just reading about it!

 

Sunday morning started with coffee and donuts-- and getting thing loaded onto the bikes.

The XJ RELAY II has begun! "The Bag" has started out with: some xj4Ever stickers, some Excell Yamaha key rings from the local dealer, a Progressive Insurance kickstand plate, and a log book.

The first few legs are being worked out right now, and The Bag is being outfitted a bit more. Then it will head out to wherever. I will start a sticky Forum, too.

It started June 9-10, 2018 at the Central New York Carb Clinic.

 

Smeag is taking the first leg, then passing it to Crazy Gnat.....it will get to Nuch, and do a figure-8 loop and then be on its way!

 

The end of the CNYCC#11.........

 

Date for next Year's CNYCC#12 - is expected to be June 8, 2019.

Stay tuned for other entries from this year's carb clinic as people get home and have time to post here!

We had a few less people than anticipated, but we sure had a great time again. It was good to see everyone, and I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Huge thanks to Dave for organizing a great weekend. Weather was perfect, food was excellent and plenty. We all learned a lot, laughed and most importantly made new friends. And we got to ride a tractor
My bike is still as dirty as it was before - I guess I'll try again next year.

 

I'll make it out there some day. Until then, I'll just enjoy it all vicariously from my laptop.

 

Just wanted to post some of the pics that I took. There are others that are related to the brake job and the tasty engine guards from Chacal @ xj4ever... but those will be posted to different threads in the (hopefully) near future.
