That is an awesome bike. I watch for them all the time, most are the Specials which I don't care for.
If that bike was $1500 in 77 then it hasn't even tripled in value.
I wonder what the NASDAQ Index did since 77.

Seems awful familiar.......either it was for sale here along time back, or it was another list member who was building it.

My bike was apparently in the works to become a "bobber" when i bought it.
Plywood seat with jean wrapper, chineese signals, stripped down... Shitty Z bars that hit the tank at full turn...
Lotta cash on e-bay to get the stock parts back, emblems, grab handles, bars, signals etc.

Glad i saved it! Other than custom paint n such, im not gonna wreck it.

 

While it may not be everyone's style, if it's well maintained, tuned properly, running properly, who cares what it looks like. If the person riding it is happy, I dont see a problem. Sorry, just my opinion as I realize it goes against the popular opinion here.

Interesting item about this bike.....I think it may be one that I previously owned (way back in the 80's). The miles, condition, add-on items, location all lead me to believe this was previously mine. Although I am very curious and interested....my current project load does not allow me to take this one under my care. However, if there is someone who is interested, I would be glad to help anyway I can.

Here's a very nice super low mile bike, 480, that the owner claims is the second bike off the assembly line. Unfortunately, he doesn't include images of the coveted number two serial number stamp. For the low miles and claimed production number the price is on point at $3000. This bike would sell fast and easy on eBay with better pics and proof of that production number.......

 

Hmm, does it have mirrors? I wonder if this was the one somebody posted a while back with the wrong front rim.

Actually, with only 480 miles on the bike, it shouldn't need restoration.
Technically its not even broken in with the claimed miles on the bike.
How the hell would you loose a new side cover within the first 480 miles?
