    Hi Guys

    I was watching this video on repairing a Suzuki igniter box. Does anyone have tables as shown in the Haynes manual in this video at 1.05 minutes for the XJ Series? It would be useful to know this information thanks.

    i made one of those charts many moons ago, it would be easier to make another than find it.
    it wasn't exact but an obvious difference would be a problem

    Yes true at least it could be used rough guide. It is a shame Haynes did not include the information in the manual.

    Easier to re-use the original triggers and wire them in to a dual GM HEI power box.
    I built on a couple of years ago for a GS850 and it worked well. Many other have built them successfully for Hondas and Kwacks and many report success.
    It's a kind of seat-of-the-pants thing, as there might be slight differences to take into account, for example the triggers are not all the same and differeing responses to the triggers lead to less optimum results.
    However, there's a great deal of satisfaction building an electronic system for 30 bucks, instead of shelling out far far more.
    If the TCI on the XJ craps out, I'll be looking seriously at it.

    Dave I was just wondering can you explain what the triggers are, and the GM HEI power box, I see them online. I do not know a great deal about electronics to be honest but I would like to have a better idea of how TCI's can be repaired thanks?

    The early GPZ 550 adjusts spark timing mechanically.

    The XS650 forum has been doing some work with Suzuki GN250 ignitors with built-in advancers.

    The problem, as I see it, is the unlikelihood of both units remaining in accurate stepping when it comes to running a pair of them.
