I thought that pic looked familiar! Yes it is still available but it is at my place Harpursville, NY and I am in NC for the winter. I can see if a friend can find it and go from there if you need it soon. Otherwise, when the snow goes off and the weather warms.

I haven't heard from him further so...… I am afraid ASAP is going to be difficulty. I am in North Carolina and it is in New York. I posted the ad last fall. No plans on going home in the next few weeks.

I have an XJ650R Seca airbox I can give you.
The drain nipple is broken off.
The rubber connectors between carb and box are there, the clamps are not in great shape.
    Free + shipping from Canada.

Okay Guys. I have returned to the site of the airbox and have it and the lid in hand. If either of you, or anybody else, is still interested I will keep it close by me this time so that I can quickly ship it out. Sorry about that fellers.

I just purchased a 1983 900 Seca without an air box. Does anybody know it an air box off of another XJ would work? I don't want to use pods if I don't have to.

I don't like the color and I'm thinking of painting it white with the red and blue stripes. Was that color scheme sold in the US? 00y0y_6mwDHV2A37g_1200x900.jpg Yamaha_XJ900_seca.jpg

You need an airbox for the 900rk (750rl will work, too).

USA color was red w/black and silver stripes.

Andrew, when you have a moment send me a private conversation --- I'd like to get yours registered if it hasn't already been done... if it has already previously been logged, I'd like to update the XJ900RK Seca Registry for USA-Delivered Units.

I always wanted a Honda Interceptor when they came out so this could be a two for one...

My other idea is to make the first Midnight version of this bike, at least then I wouldn't have to pay for or paint graphics. What do you think?

Would you be able to send me measurements of the 650 box front and back? It might be worth a shot to see if I can shoehorn it into a 900.

Paint it how you like. It's relatively easy to change back, unlike hacking the frame.

Do you think that I could adapt a "1982 AND 1983 YAMAHA XJ 650 SECA TURBO AIR BOX INTAKE (TANK SURGE) WITH REED VALVES" to work as an air box in the 900 Seca? It looks like I'd have up to two places to add pod filters on the back side. It probably wouldn't be as ideal as having the original air box and filter but maybe it would take some of your air flow chaos?

The interior volume and flow rate won't be the same, and you'd be keeping that airbox from a Turbo owner who might need one.
