Trolling CL and reliving old race/riding days see this(sure hope i can get a pic in here): ‘82 Seca 550 barn find. Seller had carbs done and he did oil... called complete service, but i doubt it, sounds like oil, battery, and carbs. Anyway he’s at $1200 for what looks like a running and unmolested in good condition factory 550. Too much $$?

I think they mean $2750, which is not too bad considering the price of a Velorex 562 today. Mine was new in 89, I think I paid about $1500 but I think they’re double that now.

That 550 Seca one post back is nice, not what I envision a barn find.

Well!, finally got to see this bike in person. Its a real surviver with real paint chips, scratches, pealing finishes, and oxidization to prove it. Passed onit at $800,,, just too much to refinish! If anyone is looking for one of these, i know where it sits!

Now that is a work of art...and or love...with a missing title. That is so much work to put into a bike and not be able to ride it on the road. I don't see them getting their money out of her but you never know, the right buyer could come along. As they say every dog has their day.

I wondered about this myself. I do know there was a Weisco 636 kit for the FZ600, if he installed that with the 550 crank it won't be a 636.

Yes that is way too much for that...unless it is gold plated or something we can't see. Might find the right person to buy it, never know.

I might take a run up there...never been, looks like an interesting place, plus we ( I) deliver chocolate...., to a place in Litchfield, CT, yes, on the XJ, when weather allows......and nows a GREAT time, temperature speaking....so, a quick detour, lol.

Purely as a tyre kicker....I mean, if I had lest say 8-9k kicking around that was just 'spare change' I would probably buy it....lol !!
