Have a " brk" warning on my odometer. Front brakes were shot so I put new pads , bled the system. Brakes fine now. But the " brk" indicator is still showing. How do I make it disappear? Thx.

that warning is brake fluid level warning.
    add fluid
could be the float has failed or come unplugged.
    check connections

I think chacal has replacment "floats" for your bike but not for the maxim MC.
HCP3025 OEM master cylinder FLUID LEVEL SENSOR. This is the complete low-brake-fluid sensor switch assembly: float, post, lead wires and connectors. For all XJ750 Seca front and XJ1100 rear master cylinders.

also sells a widget you can plug it to shut off light.

HCP19573 Aftermarket ADAPTER WIRE for low-brake fluid sensor bypass. Since the 1983 master cylinder has no provision for the low-fluid sensor, you need to by-pass the sensor so that the computer is fooled into thinking there is plenty of fluid in the reservoir.
