So I've been absent for a while because I bailed in a corner that had some gravel after a storm and laid the Seca down :(

I've just been looking at her in the garage dejectedly ever since.

All in all, it could have been way worse and I did a "controlled" crash in the grass on the far side as I was fortunate enough to notice no one was coming the other way.

But now I'm going to fix her back up and I have a lead on a bike I'm probably going to pick up tomorrow.
    I need or want the:
    • Headlight bucket
    • Kill switch assembly
    • Front fender
    • mufflers
    • collector
    • driver footpegs (Maybe)
    • tank (maybe)
The rest should be fair game...
Anybody interested in any parts would help me defray the costs, thanks!

    This is my bike:

Here's the one I'm picking up:

Sorry to hear about the mishap but most importantly it seems you walked away with all your body parts in tact - so grateful that was the outcome.

I will send a PM on some spare bits I might be interested in.

Geez Tim! Glad to hear you are okay even if you are way disgusted. I know you just recently got the bike back together from major service.
The Midnight Maxim has been out and about this summer and is getting some updates right now. If you happen to have a couple of spare mufflers after the inventory or rebuild let me know. The ones on the MM are completely gutted, nothing left inside them. Did you ever have it running?
    Stay safe, stay well.

Looks like she's barely hurt. You too for that matter.
The front fender can be braized (or welded) back to orignal contition and repainted. That will save you some of the cost.

Just got into it a little tonight...

The ignition switch had the bolts pull out / break the housing so the electrical was wacky. Other than that, looks like she won't be too hard to fix back up.

Moved the bike last night and now seeing the bars / front wheel are 5 degrees off or so.

The "triple tree" ever slip and allow something like that or am I pretty much guaranteed to have bent forks. Just wondering as if I can't just loosen everything up and re-assemble, the parts bike I'm looking at tonight just became more valuable.

I would think that if you hit in a manner that knocked the bolts out of the ignition switch that there is a really good chance something is bent. Everything in the front is going to have to be disassembled and checked for damage. The tubes may be just knocked out of parallel but should be checked.
    Good luck!

The forks can twist the tree very easily. Loosen the pinch bolts and align the front end before jumping to conclusions about the fork tubes.

Did you hit anything solid/hard? Or not? If not, probably just twisted the forks out of parallel. Even if you hit something solid, if it was a low speed, good chance is still that you just knocked things out of parallel. Like Kmoe said, loosen everything up and get the forks parallel again before drawing any conclusions.

I probably have some little bits for you too, there’s plenty of us here that have the parts to get you back together.

I actually had the same thing happen to my ignition barrel housing when I had a similar mishap. I was able to transplant my existing barrel into a new housing so I could keep the same key. I used the word up for cleaning the ignition that xj4ever hosts as reference.

I flattened the head light to about 2 inches tall snapped the ignition switch, cluster was completly destroyed. a few parts later re-aline the front end and up running again,
it takes a lot to bring these bikes down and out.
