I really need the glass for the speedometer but I understand that's very specific. Any idea if it'd fit a 1980 XJ650 maxim?

I'm not 100 percent positive but I dont see why not you could just get the whole cluster and swap it out.

Gauge internals are different from 80 to 82 but the cover is exactly the same. It will work.

I am not 100 percent positive. I'm sure someone on here would know I'm not in any huge hurry so if you find that they will work and you would want it let me know.

80-83 XJ650 maxim, xj550 maxim, and 1983 xj750 Maxim share the same cluster assembly except for two variableS.......

    1. 550 maxim, and 1980-1981 clusters had a cable driven TACH. The others were electrical TACH.

    2. Midnight maxim housings were black instead of chrome and they have a Midnight Maxim emblem stuck on.

Otherwise, the housings, lights, speedos, covers.... all the same.

long story short, just unscrew everything and install a new front cover.

When I get a chance, I will try to measure length and spread. The 650 maxim has two pipes each side collecting into 1 unit. The 650rj has four pipes connecting to 4 inlets on one collector box.

I'm not sure I found a 84 Yamaha FJ1100 with all set but been in wreck and can't find if they can be used? But pull them for only $60 and then rebuild. Maybe sell them to get some money back? I've been out of bikes for 35 years so what are needing to let them go?
