*81 550 seca all factory original

I found this 550 and was able to buy and get it out of that barn ...but sad to say i dont have the funds .any offers

 

Do you have any clearer pictures from different angles? Hard to assess a bike with that photo.

 

Yes thank you for letting me know....I'll post more now ..I had started cleaning the connections so seat ,tank and stuff are off . Ha just under 13000 miles at 12846...

 

Looks like that bike spent a bit of time outside, from all the fading.

 

Yep....the man I bought it from couldn't remember how long he said around 7 years but his grandson said over 10 ...i did roll over and had had compression . I did a light test and each wire had a weak spark but was there ...I did run fuel to the carbs and they filled up and stopped so thinking the floats are working ..but that's as far as I have gone...

 

That's a 1982, not an 81...

 

or, even an '83 since some '82 came with the red cowl. This one clearly has an aftermarket windscreen fitted.

I’d go with ‘82, didn't the ‘83 have a chrome front fender?

Dkavanagh beat me to it...... lots of time spent sitting in the sun—gauges faded to white, lots of fade/sun-scald on the red plastic.....

Looks like rash on the right engine cover, thick rust on some valve-cover bolts and head acorns

 

81’s where white
82’s where red
83’s where black without front fairings

 

And I believe I remember now...it was the ‘81 for the chrome front fender
