shifter problems xj750 seca

    Got on it to ride the other day and the pedal wouldn't shift out schemof 1st gear. I could only get it into
    1st or neutral. I'm assuming it's a broken spring. are there any diagrams out there covering disassembly ?
    or videos, schematics etc. showing how the linkage should work when functioning properly ? I pulled the
    shifter cover off and now searching for info on how to proceed next.

    I changed the guide on my engine. It had not failed but l was replacing the alternator/starter chain. Plenty of info here if you need it to replace the guide.
