Ive recently bought a 1983 Yamaha Seca 750, the tires are from 2012 and I've been told that is pretty dangerous to ride on. I was wondering what the best band for your buck tires would be? I mostly ride around town not going faster than 60 and almost never on the freeway. I live in Utah so the temperatures tend to fluctuate a lot. Any recommendations are appreciated.

I bought some Shinko tires last year and they are fine. I have a XJ700 and I ride about like you do. The bike had Dunlaps on it when I got it and they were fine also. The way you and I ride doesn't require anything special in my opinion.

Used Shinko tire on several bikes I've owned over the years usually great price and good wear , Dunlops are also good tires for the price

Another question on tires, I got some shinko tour tires and the max psi is 42. I was wondering how close I should be to that number or what most people run tires at?

Check the manual for suggested tire pressures, front and back, for your load weight.

I have Dunlop 404 on one XJ as well as an XS and Shinko 777 on the other XJ
I put the Shinkos on myself and have yet to tell any difference the way I ride (cruiser style).

I just bought a set of Bridgestone Battleax BT46 tires for my 650. Think I ordered them from Dennis Kirk, they had a really good price if you bought them as a set.

Haven't installed them yet, I'll post after they're mounted.
