gas tanks

    I have a 81 maxim xj550 with pinhole leaks in the tank. Are there any other tanks from any other xj bikes that will interchange? Please email me.

    Other than the 550 Seca, no not really. I can give you one word of advice: eBay. Maxim tanks pop up ALL THE TIME if it weren't midnite I bet I could find you more than one in about 20 min. Seca tanks much harder to find, besides you need a Maxim.

    There is a company out there that makes a tank sealer. Don't use Kreem it's horrible!!! The one I used and it ROCKS is POR5 the kit is about $45 and comes with everything you would need to take care of the pinhole. Works great on covering up that rust too.
