Got my replacement clutch cable and upgrade fuse box today -- very fast shipping and supurb service from chacal.

    http://www.xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic ... html#65977

Put in the new cable and got it all adjusted, no worries (and no slop!). Got the fuse box wired up and lights, computer came on, starter runs, no start.

Sigh. Then I met a neighbor who had to poke his nose in and see what kind of bike it was. Very cool. helped me out. (honda nighthawk)

He also said it had to start in neutral, and that's when I noticed the neutral switch wasn't coming on with the clutch lever. Hmm.

I had it stuck in first and couldn't get it out -- I thought it was clutch adjustment, but he "rolled" it out and explained about how the gears are designed to stick in place. Started up -- yeah!

The damned kick-stand switch. Forgot all about it. Looked up the symptoms here in the forum, put my boots on and went back out to the garage to check it. Another score for xjbikes. Too late for this newbie to ride at night, though. I don't have the headlights adjusted right yet -- tomorrow's job.

You can set it to notify you by email but it does have a lag time...

Len has great honest advice and reasonable prices. I paid a bunch too much for a couple of parts before I found this forum.
