Just looking ove new bike, bought as a none runner PO thought it needed a new CDI. Well i kept that in mind and started looking the bike over to familiarize myself as to what goes where etc, took the plugs out and noticed he was using Resistor plugs and Resistor plug caps. Opinions needed as to wether this would make bike difficult to start especially as the battery is ok but not as good as it could be. Refitted the cdi which PO had removed and i get a spark but it seems a bit weak.

    thanks

You should have one or the other, not both 'R'

Yes that was my thought as well, just tested the spark with resistor plug and none resistor plug and the none resistor plug has a massive spark purple bluey colour compared to the resistor plug, same colour just quite a small spark which is probably failing under compression.

Just waiting for the parts shop to open and we may get some life out of it.
