i concluded the previous owner must have dropped the bike on the right side because of a few tell-tale signs. one being that the right foot brake lever bent in quite a bit and halfway under the front of the tailpipe. it definately does allow a natural feel and i know it could be potentially dangerous.

any tricks to straighten them out, or am i better off looking to buy a different one that is straight?

    Thanks

Better off looking to buy one. They can be had cheap on ebay, usually $20.00 or less with shipping.

if you give some pics i can probably tell you how to bend it back... but if a new one is cheap and you have the money you might as well get new

Never been able to unbend a Brake/clutch lever without it breaking. But then NEW ones are $5 from Mikesxs.com OR partsnmore.com

he's talking about bending the foot brake pedal Danilo, it's probably possible with a little heat
