what i meant to say was a live chat room, you know the type where you type a question or comment and some answers you after some small thought

I would like to chat about the following:

My seca has 17.000 original miles. It's been harder to start as its gotten older. Bike is nearly mint condition, but the new spark plugs look sooty and black after a short time. Had carbs apart and they were clean inside. However, I've never had the valves checked for proper clearances. Could this be causing my problems? Thanks for your help!

i would like to see a live-chat section where we could chat in real time about our issues. Would make some issues easier to handle. Plus we some of these long back and forth posts can be eliminated.

It wouldn't work, because the content of chat rooms is "dumped" and any useful tips or new ideas would be forever lost.

An improvement on what we have here would be to list or organize the best and most helpful threads here in some kind of an index- - such as Carburetor , Starter , Brakes , Etc. so all problems and solutions can be researched easily.

    Just a thought. . .

A while back I suggested the posts had a number, to make them easier to search, but I got a loud "bump" someone wrote that they search this site using google 8O

    ( I could be V.P. ? ! )

I'd like to see a transparent, slowly rotating XJ on screen, where you point and click on a part, and that whole sub-assembly drops out, still rotating.
You keep clicking and the parts keep dis-assembling.

This is tied into your favorite manual, giving you the page #, AND tied into the best 20 threads here dealing with that topic.

    Any programmers here?

timetoride ... that honestly doesnt seem to HARD ... just over-whelmingly complex.

With so many different XJs (and many of them needing different parts fiches and manuals) it would have to be done several times over to cover even MOST of the bikes people on here have, let alone all.

The real mess (from what I can see) would be trying to link it all to any relevant threads. With how fast this site moves sometimes, it would be one heck of a chore just to find the threads, let alone code them in.

I like the idea of copying helpful threads into another sub-forum maybe, like was mentioned. One for carbs, one for starter, etc, etc. Seems to be alot more easily accomplished.
