any reason why gas is slightly leaking out of my 4 header? I thought it was my head gasket ., but is definatly coming out of the # 4 header .

Stuck float or incorrect float level on #4 carb would be my guess.

You either buy new parts, or dress-up the parts you got.

Inspect the rubber needle tip for any flaws. You can swap #4 needle into #3 and see if the flooding follows. Brass needles can be wiped with 2,000 grit.

Seat- - sharpen a wood golf tee and use as a finishing hone. You can polish the seat with a Q-tip and rouge, in a dremel, but then you'd have to clean all that out.

Float pivot pin- - polish with 800 grit minimum, then do the part of the float that it goes into by rolling up a bit of sandpaper.

Check if you have gas in the oil also. Almost a certainty if you have gas leaking out the header. Need to change the oil and filter. I actually change the oil and filter using a cheap 10w40 - ran 10 minutes or so under no load (use fans to cool the bike) then changed oil and filter again with my regular oil. May be overkill but it did a great job cleaning the gas out.

Fouled plug, not firing, fuel is being forced out the exhaust and is leaking around the header. I had it happen to me on my Maxim and years ago on another bike. Change the plug. Then, once you get it firing on that cylinder, determine if it's running rich, float needle is leaking, float level is off, etc.

Very good call - I assumed leaking while not running. You know about assumptions...

Well, it's just because it's happened to me....on two different bikes! On the Maxim, I thought I had a base gasket leaking and kept trying to verify it when I finally figured it out.

I think its my coil wire ..or coil. The plug is new and just soaking wet. I've burned like 25$ in gas in 2 days 50 km max travelled.. The gas is spatting out of my exhaust when I ride. I still have plenty of power.. The mixture screws have been adjusted 3 turns out. And they all look good except for that one(#4). The fumes burning in the exhaust and over the head are making me ill.
Ill definatly check the coil, then the plug wire, (maybe its a bad connection on the wire to the plug boot?
Thanks a million for all comments on this issue.

seal the header to the head, then at least the fumes will be blowing out behind you.

Can you try switching coils to see if the "bad" plug follows that coil wire?

Ill switch the #4 coil wire with the #3 tonight and see what happens. And I dont know if the silicone will take with the gas residue around the header pipe..cant hurt to try ..right? How would I just do an electrical test with my multimeter to see if there is adequate voltage going to the plug?

test for a healthy spark by laying the plug on the head & turning the bike over (ignition on) don't put your multimeter probe up the plug cap.
test the coil, 2 thin wires (primary) set meter to ohms, should read 2.5 ohms. probe the high tension wires (without the plug caps) set meter to kilo ohms, should read 11 ohms.

clean off any gas before you apply silicone, it takes heat but doesn't like gas.
