    wasn't going fast...20mph...

sleepy still, took the corner a little wide, hadn't ordered new tires yet.

i laid the bike down, it went into the grass, and i looked like superman for a second..on the pavement. slid a couple of feet

Bike has issues, laid it in the grass, left side. I got a small patch of road rash where my jacket rode up.

On an up note i can vouch for the toughness of joe rocket products!. no real harm to the jacket or gloves i was wearing. I'll post pics tomorrow if anyone is interested. it's mostly cosmetic...worst of it it bent handlebars, i think.

Dam that sucks.Hope you are ok.I few years back I kinda ran off the rode at about 15-20 mph.Tried to get back onto road but shoulder was covered by grass.Needless to say The road was higher than grassy shoulder.Front wheel dug in and I sorta jack knifed.Flew over handle bars landed on road and did a roll over.No helmet,no jacket. tshirt and pants.Jumped up and stood in front of car that just whized by me.Lucky enough guy behind me saw me do a roll and stopped traffic from behind me.I ran over to bike tried to pick it up and felt a stabbing pain in my shoulder.Turns out i had a broken clavical. Some rode rash on shoulder and hip. This is 2 days after I got 81 seca 750.No major damage to bike.$80 towing and a broken front turn signal that I rigged back on.$800 hundred dollar ride in ambulance, about 2-3000$ for emrgency room docotor visits,$50 for failure to maintian vechicle on paved surface.Lesson learned,If your going to wreck, wreck your backup bike.Think my sporty would have been totalled.

Snick, glad your in one piece. Gear can make a huge difference in the outcome. Bean, your lesson is very inexpensive compared to how bad it could have been if the car that missed you hadn't. You are a blessed man, mortal men should be so lucky.

Well ....could have been much worse, dam screws in my leg still set off the metal detectors at the airport. Glad you only exposed a little flesh.
Now get back on your steed!

I can't believe that some states in the US still have no helmet laws.

Huge fines over here for riding without a helmet.

Thankfully you wern't going any faster, could have been a whole lot worse :)

Glad your ok snick. As for the helmet I find that hard to believe too. Some of my friends take there helmets off as soon as we get on the back roads, they figure no cops no problem. I wouldn't take my helmet off to save my life (if that makes any sense) I think its crazy!

I have 18 inches of steel and screws in my right leg and have had no problems setting off anything anywhere.

I know what you mean; My prosthesis sets off those metal detectors also.
I lost my leg 14 years ago when 70+ yr old grope ran a red light and totaled the Harley I was riding.
