    Greetings all!
Have a strange problem with a 81 650 Maxim. After a low speed tip-over, I seem to be having trouble with fuel not flowing from the right side to the left side. Range dropped from around 110 miles to 60. The bike would run OK again for a while if left to sit for a bit.

Anyone else experience this type of behavior, or have any suggestions?

    Thanks!
    Paul

??? Our beloved 81s have a saddle tank that should allow fuel to flow from one side to the other in the back end of the tank. If you've lost range after a drop, I would suspect (and this is the tricky part) that you have possibly crushed the back side of the tank somehow. More details would be needed i.e. what side did you land on, what damage was incurred, etc. (maybe a photo or two). I'm just poking at the problem in the dark with the info you've provided at this point.

    Robert,

Thanks for the reply. I should have posted this in another forum, me-thinks, not a mod problem. And I should spell fuel right. But anyway....

Laydown was at essentially stopped speed, large highway bar and fairing on bike, no obvious damage to tank.

I'm going to pull the petcock today and see if I can see anything obvious. Will also slosh the tank around and see if I can see/hear anything.

    Thanks,
    Paul
