so i had my bike out today for the first time in a month and she ran tip top. i was heading down I-80 and i had a pretty clear straight away so i decided to top out and see what she could do.
long story short i burried the needle and the tac was at 7 when i decided to let off the throttle but i was really bumed because i do not know how fast i was going (in the 90's at least).
so this brings me to my point i realy want to get an after market speedo tac set that would be compatible with my bike but i don't realy know that much about them any one out there done this change and have it work out.
    any help would be useful.
    thanks

My bud bought one of these for his 5150 kikker, seemed to work really well!

Not sure if it's cosmetically what you're looking for, but it's an option.

You also could just add a bicycle speedo if accuracy is important to you. They are cheap and accurate. Velcro it to the gauges and you are good to go.

does it use the same sensor setup like a bicycle speedo? i want some digital guages for my bike and like the look any layout of it.

what color does it illuminate at night?

does anyone know the backlight color and how well these do if you get rained on?

Sorry Invader, i missed replying to this. The unit basically works like a bicycle speedo, sensor on the forks and magnet on the front or rear wheel. The tach sensor you can hook up different ways, from using an input straight off the coil signal, to winding a lead around the spark plug cable.

The backlight is blue, not sure how it would hold up in the rain.
