Ok. This is getting extemely frustrating. The problem: Starts like a dream but when I kick it into gear it stalls. Can't start it in gear. I tore it apart, jumped the KS Switch, Clutch Switch. Put everything back together again and it ran great for 4 days. Now it is back to square one. If I do get it to drive again I have no problem shutting it off and starting it again or shifting into neutral and kicking it back in gear. If it cools down for any length of time then I can't get it going again. WHAT IN THE WORLD DO I DO. Even stumped my mechanic as he couldn't get it to replicate the problem. AHHHHHH!

Is your spark going away? you should test the ignition when that happens. Also look at your safety relay it might be bad. Check with charcal for a new one. good luck

Finally found the problem. Had a sneaking suspicion that it was the kickstand switch. After taking it to the service shop they comfirmed this diagnosis. I tried jumping the wires prior to the ks switch. However there is a relay in the system and that was the problem area. They twinned the wires together prior to the relay. Only setback is that the bike needs to be started in neutral only. Not a big issue. Thanks everyone for the great advice. I have enjoyed being a part of XJBikes. It helps a gumby like me.

    Robert.
