I haven't been able to remove the emulsion tubes from my hitachi carbs. I remove the upper parts (diaphragm, needle, etc..) and the main jet on the bottom end. Tapping doesn't budge the emulsion tube (this is the brass tube underneath the main jet right?). Pushing with my finger from the main jet side doesn't budge it either. I am afraid to push with any tools for fear of damage.

Does any one have any tips to free/remove emulsion tubes?

Thread a 5mm bolt in in place of the jet. Then you can tap more vigorously without fear of harm. You also might squirt some carb cleaner through the air jet to get the crud dissolving.

Use a wooden dowel, tap it with a light hammer.....
It soft enough not to damage the brass and hard enough to take a hit
