where does THIS mount?

    seca handle

    ive got an 82 seca but ive not seen this handle anywhere on my bike. i guess its for setting the bike on the center stand but like i said, ive not got one. at least not that ive seen...

    that bar is supposed to go underneath the seat right in front of the turn signals on the left or right side.

    ive not got one on either side. wondered how anything was supposed to be bungeeed down to the flimsy plastic rear cowling...

    I thought I seen on here somewhere that it was for the left side only and was an option. Seems that it was referring to a bike somebody restored maybe an aussie is coming to mind. I think that was a 550 tho. THe bike was red I remember that LOL!!

    That Aussie is English, the bike is a 650 & bright copper, you were right about the handle though. :wink:

    well it says Australia LOL It is red-ish on my screen LOL!! But still a very nice job and looks like a showroom clean bike.. I am lucky at this point to get anything out of my memory seems I forget more and more..

    XJ550 Seca models used that "standing handle" on the left side only, all other Seca models used a handle on both the left and right sides. They're used to help you "stand-up" the bike when putting it on the center stand, or when you lay down the bike. Since Seca models don't have a large, long "grab bar" like the Maxim models use, they needed some type of handle for people to grab onto, and that's what they are used for.

    By the way, they are different in size and shape between all the different models, don't interchange between models, and the left and right sides are different, too..........
