The Steel Drivers just go in like they came out.

The Friction Plates are placed-in on a Bias so that they won't bind the Driven Plates.

The "Bias" is easy to envision.
When you put the first plate in ... call that 12 O'Clock
Put the next Friction Plates after the next Driver ... at 1 O;Clock
    Driver
    2 O' Clock ...
    so-on and so-forth.

The idea is to not put two in-a-row in with the Friction Pads lined up the same as the one you just put in.

The Bias makes the Clutches smooth on the off-the-line.

    Hi Rick
Could you please expand on the clocking of the friction disk, I don't quiet understand your method.
Upon installation of the first fr disk at 12:00 are you installing the next fr plate at 1:00 and so on.
Is this because you are clocking the old fr disk's in different locations for a different wear pattern.
Thanks Rick I just need to know if I am missing something.

It's not so much a "Clocking" aas it a "Stagger" to even-out the friction that occurs when the Clutches are engaged on to the Driven Plates.

Without having the Friction Plates Staggered ... sometimes the Clutch will be a little too "Grabby" and smooth take-off's are affected.

    Ok Rick Thanks
This is what I understand, The whole idea is to install the original friction disk in A new location in the basket or staggered to the next slot.
and this sets up a new wear pattern for smooth take off's.
Is this what you are saying. I am still a little confused and are you talking re installing the old friction disk.
    Thanks again

No. Don't use any of the old discs.
    I didn't mean do that.

Just pattern the new ones to be not lined-up all in a row.
