Well got the starter relay thanks again chacal! and she tries to crank over finally!! this is the 1st start aside from the push start when i bought it...running very rough assuming carbs are main issue??

It feels like its not gettin gas continually had very little in the tank though just enough to keep it up didnt want to fill the tank. The throttle isnt very responsive finding more and more on what the PO's did to her...heres 2 vids

1st one was the first start after instaling the new starter relay

2nd got it started choke way up gfs dad spraying some carb cleaner in, think the smoke was from the engine gunk i used it was pretty dirty before hand. It came with pods put them back on later and played with the idle screw actually got it to idle later still ran rough though. Let me know what you guys think.

sounds like carb problems to me, mine was doing the same thing before I took them apart, cleaned them, replaced 2 broken emulsion tubes, one butterfly valve, fixed a vacuum leak, and bench synced them...

First of all your carbs are in bad need of cleaning. You should do a valve clearance check, compression test, then carb clean and sync. The reason why it won't idle is because you don't have your rubber air box boots on. The engine needs that restriction on the intake side since the carbs were jetted and set up for that air cleaner box. Your exhaust sounds loud. If the exhaust has been modified you will need to rejet the carbs up a few numbers so it does not run lean and toast your pistions and rings. Good Luck & Hope that helps

You have some work to do. I can tell by watching and listening to the video.
First of all, the bike didn't respond to you opening the Throttles when it was dying. That, in and of itself, means you have a Fuel Delivery problem to overcome.

That it doesn't want to run means that you aren't getting any Fuel to the top-side of the Carbs when you need it.
That ... means you have to do some Carb Cleaning and beyond the Cleaning you'll have to determine what Re-Jetting will be necessary to run the Engine without the Carbs being connected to their Airbox.

Thoroughly Clean the Carbs including the Center Emulsion Tubes and Scrub and refinish the Diaphragm Piston Bores.
Once cleaned ... you can embark on getting them tuned.
Depending on how modified the Intake and Exhaust Systems are will determine what you'll have to do with regard to re-jetting the rack to combat an excessively Lean condition.

If the bike is run out of doors without any air cleaners you are one gust of wind away from ruining valves or having the cylinder walls scored by particulate getting drawn-into the combustion chambers.

I know you can't be expected to run the bike indoors with others nearby and exhaust fumes being toxic.
Hose down the area near your outdoor tuning spot to lessen the chance of having any dust or sand get sucked-into the Carbs while you are revving the engine.

Mine was the same way it would not run without full choke only because the PO had backed off the idle screw on the side of the carb . turned off the choke and twisted the idle screw now it runs great .

I get about 50 mpg right now but at this point i need to have the carbs sync'd , stumbles abit on take off but like I said it runs great

over 1200 fun uneventful miles on it in 3 months not bad for sitting 12 years in a garage :)

Mine was the same when I got it as well.I was also a carb virgin with no mech. exp. what so ever.Just follow the instructions posted here to the letter and she'll be purring in no time. One thing to note is,be meticulous! The first time I had mine a part,I broke a pilot jet and while I was waiting for one from Chacal,I took them a part again and found something I missed. Also watch out for those clips that hold the rubber manifold boots on.My throttle was hanging up on one of those clips just enough to drive my idle crazy. It took me 1/2 hour and several checks on the forum to figure it out.
