    Hi from Australia
Just picked up an 85 model XJ900 and have spent the day getting to know her. Mechanically she is in preety good nick for a 23 year old bike, paint work needs a bit of a touch up. I had originally planned to take her of the road and tidy her up a bit. I think the tidy up can wait for a while!!!!!. I enjoyed the day on the road too much.

G'Day Ned. There's a few Aussies around the forum, so some local advice is usually pretty handy. The XJ900 is the main bike for Aussies as well, and while I have taken a year rebuilding my bike I'm hoping to see some summer riding in the coming months.

    Enjoy! oby

Another Newbie here, currently own a 1987 XJ 900. Had several prior to this....superb machines. Common faults - the old crack in either side of the frame (seat loop area) Easily welded up and rusting out in bottom of tank due to petrol tap being lower that centre part of tank - well known... suggest you have your tank lined before you're afflicted and/or regularly up end tank to remove water!
