I'm going to need some sort of luggage for commuting, and think a tail bag that sits on the passenger seat of my '82 Maxim 750 would be the best solution. There is a lot of choice out there in internet land, so thought I would ask here if there is a tail bag that you would recommend for an XJ that worked well for you. The pictures all show very modern bikes, so I'm not sure how a bag would fit my more mature ride :D

Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts.

I have not found a bag I like yet for my 82 750. I wish I had a rack behind the sissy bar. Then I think I could find a bag I liked.

    Oh
    I have a revpack,,,,http://www.revpack.com/motorcycle/main.html

I do not know about your specific bike,,,,but dang they make them in every size imaginable,,,but I just recently bought 1 an used it,,,,,very well made it would take more water than I would,,,,I bought the normal material with a cover,,,,does not need a cover in moderate rain the kind you ride out of,,,,I notice the water drops will not set on this material.......it may seem like a lot of money,,,,,but notice the lifetime guarantee an this guys family has been around forever,,,,I'm not sure how it compares to others but I like it,,,Dan

    I bought mine from motodirect.
There sites down right now or I would post a link.
It was fairly cheap expands to fit bigger loads.
I rode for 4 hours in the rain and all was dry with the cover on.
