:?: SO IVE SERCHED AND SEARCHED BUT HAVE'NT FOUND MUCH. HOW HARD IS IT TO PUT A THE TURBO SYSTEM FROM A XJ650LJ ONTO A XJ650RJ SECA? DO YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE CARBS? HEADS? I HAVE A FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL FOR BOTH MODELS ON THE WAY.

First off the xj turbo is the heaviest and most overbuilt xj bottom end of them all. You should not expect the bottom end to live very long from the standard Xj650. The turbo's will build up to 14 lbs of boost very easily. Wonder what that would do to normal connecting rods or cranks? The head is different and the cam timing is different. Carbs are completly different and have there own quirks to them. Your best bet would be to find a seca turbo and put all of your seca bodywork on the frame if that is even possible??? There is a seca turbo on Craigslist in San Diego for a few hundred dollars if you want to go for it. Just expect to clean out the carbs, the fuel pressure regulator and the check valves, Both of them. One on the carbs and the other is on the oil line going into the turbo. Having the turbo rebuilt is another reality but there are places that can do that... Not trying to tell you not to go for it, just the opposite, letting you know the realities of what you might run into. If you do get one running and running very well, make sure to keep her happy and ride her often!!!. Ohh and make her scream... The turbo's like that

I was woundering If the LJ motor will fit in my RJ frame. Its really in better shape than I expected almost hate to use it as a parts bike but it doesnt have title. I hope to have pics up Next week.

I've use 750 maxim and seca engines in my 650 turbo with a few modifications. It can be done but you would need a lot of parts that would be easier to get a complete parts bike to steal from.

Is the crankshaft the same on the 650LJ and 650RJ? I'm almost positive it is but want to double check. Thanks.
