I just joined this forum recently. I also just aquired my first motorcycle recently (XJ750M).
I am wondering if there are any fellow XJ750 owners in the area that would be willing to show me some basics(maintenance/repairs), and go for a ride!
    Thanks!

Hopefully you'll have better luck than I'm having. I bought my bike up in Minneapolis, but I live down in Des Moines.

Well if you make it up here, or close, let me know.
I will do the same, I have a cousin that goes to school in Des Moines.

    Max12,
Welcome aboard. Just keep an eye on the forum here and you'll learn all you need to know about these bikes.
I'm up in St. Cloud and get down your way about once a month or so for a ride with a bunch I met here and on other bike forums.
We're going on the Flood Run on the 20th if the weather turns out in our favor. Your welcome to join us. Let me know and I'll post the meeting time and location. >PD<

    PainterD,
I would love to go on the Flood Run, but it seems I have a slipping clutch :x
I am going to do an oil change (or two), as I do not know what the PO used, and from what I have read on the forums, could be an issue of the wrong type of oil used. :?
If I am up and running by then, I will let you know.
    I love this site! :D

    Rick,

The bike is running great, except that the clutch just started slipping.
Going to try changing the oil, hopefully that will solve it, otherwise, it looks like I will be tearing into it sooner than I thought.
It could use some fine tuning anyway, which I wasn't planning to do until the riding season was over, but whata you do?

oops, I may have spoke too soon. I may be attending a funeral on Saturday. A friend has cancer and it's a matter of days until he passes. I'll know more the end of the week. >PD<
