    Hi All,

I have to move in the middle of my re-build, so I thought I would put the frame back together so I have a rolling chasis. Thing is, it appears that there is some play between my aswing arm and the frame on both sides. It is probably on 3-4mm total, but it's enough to be loose.

I've checked the manual and all the parts are being used, so my thoughts are:

    1) I'm a lazy buggar who just needs to tighten the holding bolts better
    2) With time I may need an extra rubber washer as the old seals compress

Any advice? Any pictures of a perfectly snug fit?

I'll look into it more after the move, but any advice prior to the tear down would be welcome.

PS - it's a 83 and has the standard U shaped swing arm.

Is the play at the axle or the swingarm pivot?? if it's just alittle at the swingarm pivot and a lot at the rear axle then your swingarm bushings are probably worn. However it seems that you have space between the frame and the swingarm. You might get lucky and be able to torque it down or you could also be missing a washer??

    Good luck with it

I just recently did my swingarm and there was a gap as you noted. After following the manual's procedure in torquing there wasn't any play in the swingarm.

WHAT? Read the manual. You've got to be kidding....

Another valuable reminder to pay attention to the words and the pretty pictures. I'll check it out bluepotpie...

    Thanks
