That's because you CAN synch a Harley by ear there's such a long lag between "chuffs"

since 97 or so most harleys have been fuel injection I know 99 was the last year for the Fatboy. They would have no use for a colortune as they just hookup and computer and let the software do the work. Doesn't suprise me a bit that thay haven't heard of it.

    I had the same surprise.
I learned about colortune plug on this site ... visited a couple bike shops ... "never heard of it".

Brought my bike to one shop to have them tune it by "ear".
I was good for 2 rides then ran rough.

Then myself with the synch vacuum gauges and colortune plug dialed it in and it's been good for a year so far.

I had never worked on a carb before getting this ole bike.
Thanks for the great info on this site.

Wouldnt there need to be more than 1 carb to synch the carbs?

Also is there a thread that covers the color-tune?

Colourtune seem to be pretty much an American thing though

Although people here have heard of them I have yet to find someone who owns one or has used one

Gunson, the company that makes the Colortune, is actually British... although they sell quite a few of their gadgets over here.

The spelling of Colourtune should be your first tip off that it is British. We Yanks spell color a slight bit different than the rest of the kingdom. I highly recommend the purchase and use of them. And I'm sorry that there aren't more of them out there for you Kickaha, they are neat little toys. You can help end the absence by springing for one... Wonder how expensive they are down in your neck of the woods.
