Has anyone every done this? If so do you have any pic or vids. I was thinking about it for my 550 but I don't know how to go about it. Thanks

They are just loud and annoying with straight pipes on these bikes. Even loud mufflers can get on your nerves after awhile.
Just take your mufflers off and have someone ride your bike past your house. You'll see just what I mean.

My 650 Maxim pretty much has wide open exhaust except for a little restrictor at the very end of my megaphone muffler 4-1 set up. Nice and loud so when I'm on 295 and stuff the brain dead idiots have a better chance of hearing me.

I did ride it once in pa without a helmet to try that for the first time and it is very very loud without a helmet. I definitely like it better with a helmet.

    :)

I cut the baffles off my xj550 just past the rear pegs. loud is good. I also went with velocity stacks to balance air movement through the engine.
