Hi riders, i seem to be getting a vibration that starts @ 3,500 and goes to just over 4,000rpm in all gears. Runs ok otherwise, timing chain a little rattlely at start, but so am i at 6:30 in the morning. Planning a 1,600Km ride so want to get it all sorted before i head off. Any ideas?

My maxim has always had a slight vibration or 'resonance' at around 4500. It took me a while to notice it, I think it is the nature of these engines. Unless your mirrors go blurry I wouldn't worry about it.

+2. Mine is between 4,000 and 4,500 RPM. At 5,000 RPM it is dead smooth going down the road.

Ha! my Seca vibrates all the way from start to stop! Rigid motor mounts FTW!!

The Maxim mill I got for it should be a bit smoother.. I hope.

It only take about 25 or 30-minutes to do a Manual resetting of the Cam Chain Tensioner.
That would be a good little project to do before hitting the road for a long haul.

The Cam Chain Tensioner on the 900's is of the Automatic variety.
    Give it a go!

4.8k to 5.2k, helps keep me from going over the speed limit. My 'speeding' speed is right in that range, so I try to avoid it. Although sometimes I avoid it by going even faster...

My "harmonic resonance" is from 4k to about 4.5k. Annoying but what are ya gonna do?

I think you should all take the batteries out of your vibrators and just ride the bikes and smile!

Ok, in the morning its good (cool) on the way home it vibrates (warm), came home late tonight (cool) and it was good. Seems to like cool air better. New front tyre going on this week and some new Rjays riding pants as well, so when the budget catches up i might take to a dyno and see what they can find. Hate vibrations.
