Wanted parts for 82 650 maxim

    I am fixing up my 82 650 maxim and am unsure what parts are interchangeable with what years.

    I need straight front forks. (Un-straightened as I have bent ones that i could straighten but its my life and I do not want to risk it)

    I need a straight front fender. Chrome

    Both side covers or just the rubber thingies that hold the covers to the frame (can you buy these aftermarket or from the dealer)

    Complete factory exhaust from front to back. Chrome and no or few dents.
    (I currently run some cheap megaphone style slip ons but my front pipes coming off the motor are dinged up and getting rusty and have purpled badly. I also am missing the chrome covers that attach to the exhaust and hide the unchromed crossover manifold)

    The yamaha emblems on the side of the gas tank. Mine broke

    My reserve does not work. The shop said I need a new petcock. Can you buy these new or just salvage?

    PM Chacal on this site and look in the for sale area for his partial parts list. He can definitely help with tank badge and petcock. I believe he has the rubber bits for the side panels also. he also has a bunch of maintenance and other parts you may need at fair prices.

    Check the for sale forum and ebay for the fender and other parts. Might try some local salvage yards also.

    ill have forks and exhaust available in a couple weeks if you can wait. im swapping my front end out for a seca dual disc setup and i just got a 4-1 exhaust off of ebay last night. so ill be swapping that out too.

    I will second Bill here, get ahold of Chacal. I have NEVER worked with anyone on the internet that was that fast to get back to you (does this guy EVER sleep?) On top of that he seems to be the most honest person I have ever dealt with. Someday I am going to get on the bike and go see him, he is just too good to believe. You think I am streching this, send him an email at info@xj4ever.com and tell him what you need and just see what happens!!!!!!!!!!!!!
