paint schemes

    as far east as you can get in michigan 43.027407,
    i know motorcycles dont come in the variety of colors like cars and trucks do but i was wondering what the colors were for the various years of XJs...

    is there a list someplace that shows the different years/models/colors?

    i know the following is correct based on what i own:

    81 550 maxim== BLACK

    82 750 seca== GRAY and RED

    83 900 seca== RED

    thats all ive seen or owned

    my 82 seca 750 was originally metallic blue with navy blue pinstriping. google image search. theres a bunch of picks out there. or look at bikez.com. bunch of pics from owners

    i did that but i didnt get a good sampling to say definitively which colors were original and which were changed by owners...

    '82 Seca 650 came in:
    Silver with baby blue and white stripping,( I own this one and often thought they were going for the feminine market).
    Red with red and white stripping was for Canada.
    Europe got blue with grey and white stripping.

    I always thought the 650 silver w/blue & white stripes was the coolest, looking the most like the original Seca XJ400. I can only answer for Seca 550's:
    Model Year 1981: White w/red stripes
    M/Y 1982: Red w/silver stripes
    M/Y 1983: Black w/scarlet & maroon stripes, no fairing.

    81 750 seca, black on black, with red lines around the tank scallops. At least thats the colors mine is :D

    I love the silver.
    If the blue was a different color blue, not robbins egg, sky blue, I would like it much better.
    My accesories all have blue, like the XJ banner, which looks really good.
    It's still a light blue but not so...... well girly.

    IM GOING TO HAVE THE BURGANDY REPAINTED PURE GLOSS WHITE THIS
