It's a crying shame that during manufacturing Yamaha cut-corners and used some pretty cheap hardware Cap Screws (Manifolds) and Studs (Exhaust Collars) on critical hardware of the Cylinder Head.

The number of cases where a Manifold Cap Screw has seized and broken on an Owner or Technician attempting to remove Manifolds is quite large.

The same can be said for the Exhaust Side Studs when the Flange Donuts require replacement.

If you are fortunate enough to have removed your Manifold Fasteners without a failure --> discard them and replace them with a HARDENED Fastener or Stainless Steel after applying an AntiSeize Compound to the Threads in the Head.

Same for the Studs on the Exhaust Manifold side.

If I get it off I replace it with stinless allen head every time. Untial I get them all changed out tho I need all tools in the box to work on it.

this is a lesson i have learned over the years

if it doesnt come off easy apply lubricant or heat or both (especially stuck lug nuts on your truck or car)

when you get it out replace it with new in stainless with anti seize
(every screw on my carbs are now stainless)

if you round a head on say an oil pan bolt or a brake bleeder dont use an easy out its to much work get yourself a small pipe wrench they will grab on anything then replace the mangled screw (dont forget the heat)
