I really like the look of this bike.
    This one is '83

    As is this one

This is an '85 but it has the larger fairing.

Were there any other years with this paint scheme?
I thought some 900's had round headlights, these have square, I would prefer round.

Here in Oz we didn't get that exact colour scheme we did get a black and red that was similiar.
Had the same bike without a fairing with a round headlight, dont know whether they sold them side by side but have seen them both. This is before any of us knew that a bike without a fairing was Naked!.
Here is a picture of the naked version I found in the red & black although claret would be more accurate than red.

Don't remember any faired versions having the round headlight.

I don't think they sold the completely "naked" 900 here in the States, and I believe it's the only one that had a round headlight. I think everything that came here, 900-wise, had a fairing and square headlight. I could be totally off base though...

I think yours is the same fairing as the pic Hound posted, just a different color scheme. I'm not 100% sure which schemes came to the US, a quick look in the parts fiche should give us the base colors by year. The ONLY 900's I ever remember seeing in the States had the scheme that your bike has. The pics Hound posted may or may not be a US model, I don't know but it's awfully nice...

my 85 model (aussie spec) is the same as the second bike but the main color is a metalic red with a metallic black top on the tank, the striping on the tank is different though as its a grey over light grey (metallics) but instead of sweeping around it lines up and goes straight across the tank from the fairing stripes. to give a nice 2 tone effect, theres some photos of it here on the forums if you wish to compare them. we had the same stickers as your bikes on our 83 model but the paint was all white with a blue and red stripe. all those bikes seem to be missing the bib spoiler or didnt you gt the in the usa
