HI guys =) My bike runs right now but is immobile due to the necessity to rebuild the brake system but not having the money in my bike fund to do so. But I figure that there should be some stuff I can do that won't cost me any money like some shining up and maybe some tuning type stuff. One thing I want to do is make sure that the bike isn't running too lean or too rich, but I am not sure how long I need to let it run before I can check the plugs. Could someone please enlighten me? Also, what are some other mechanical "things" I can do while I wait for the bike fund to rebuild? Thanks for the advice =)

when in doubt, wash it, lift the seat and detail under there
loosen the clutch brake and bars and move them till they feel right
take out all the bulbs, put some grease in the sockets
is the headlight kind of cloudy ?you can wash it out and make it like new and the headlight will be brighter
are the pegs adjustable ? are the brake pedal and shifter where you like them?
    oil your clutch cable
so far the price is about 0

take your calipers off. Pop off the pads and slide the piston out of its bore. You should be able to clean the little ring the caliper piston slides in with some dental picks ($5) at your local auto store. Maybe pick up a can of brake parts cleaner too. Take your time and do it right. I'll bet that will do wonders for your brakes.
