So after about 4 hours of working this morning, 5 separate trips to different stores for giant sockets, nuts/bolts/washers, I just finished putting it all together!

    This is how it started:

And here is how it looks now:

Eventually I will be painting the brass strips holding the gauge cluster black, or maybe some other funky color.

Overall, I think it turned out almost exactly as I had pictured it in my mind. And it got rid of the horrible vibrations caused by the front fairing!

    Cost:

    Headlight: $54.99
Headlight Mount: $34.99 (plus new rubbers for my fork at $12.99)
    Cluster: $75
Brass strips, bolts and nuts: $11.87

    Grand total: $189.84

If anyone wants full details of where I got things, links, how difficult and how I installed things, I can post all that later. I am just really eager to take it out for a test drive!

Let me know what ya think!

The gauges are from a 1993 Yamaha FZR600. They have the same input for the tach and speedo as my bike does. Granted I had to fab up a mount, but it wasn't that hard (and I didn't put that much effort into it at first.

I will probably raise the headlight later, and lower the gauges to remove the gap between the two. But its as simple as drilling new holes in the brass, moving the headlight up and cutting off the excess brass.

Wanted to bring this thread back and hope that the author would tell us what parts he used and where he got them, or if anyone else could fill the gaps it would be awesome. I really want to do this mod.

    thanks for any help,
    Jeremy

Is the gauge cluster strictly electrical or is it also mechanical? I'm looking for a newer style cluster to put on my faring stay that I can plus into my speedo and tach cables.
