    Re: dunno 'bout this manual

    Not True, the manual you are referencing is for a water cooled 20 valve maxim-x. If I remember from some of your posts you have a standard air cooled maxim...correct?

    I actually have the service manual and original owners manual for for a 1985 XJ700 (N-S) and would trade it for a 1986 XJ700XS. Let me know if we can work a deal...

    I don't see where he referenced the manual for the X. I do remember seeing him saying he was bidding on manuals for the aircooled on ebay. The good news is, Chacal does indeed stock them:

    HCP1143 Factory Service Manual covers all XJ700 non-X models 1985-86.
    $ 59.00

    DOH! Me fail reading comprehension. :( Although he did say he *thought* it was an XS.

    So, if he does want the manual for an X, Chacal's part number is HCP1145, not the one I quoted earlier.

    LOL...well, with schooters posts I have to read v e r y s l o w ly :wink:

    I think the guy has an xs manual and is trying to tell schooter that it will work on his bike...which it wont. I'm thinking if Schooter wants to buy the XS manual I'll trade him for the XJ700N which is what I think he needs?

    Schooter, sound right?

    I couldn't find it b/c u didn't have the ID right. Maxim-X models are XN (1985) or XS (1986). You don't have an X so this is a moot point. The manual on eBay you are referencing will work for your bike...BUT I have the exact service manual AND owners manual you need if you strike out
