    robista361,
I am obviously not from Maine, but I was up there this past week on vacation. I had the best riding all year. The weather was perfect. I mostly road around Acadia National Park which was absolutely gorgeous. The sites were awesome. I finished off the week with a ride from Bar Harbor down to Portland on Route 1 along the coast. It was a long ride (~6hrs), but it was totally worth the pain in the a$$.
I really just want to take this time to say that I am really jealous of the roads you get to ride on up there. Even the major highways are nice (no potholes or road kill! :D ).
    Take care,
    woolsac

    Hi,
I am a new member and just noticed this post. I am in Manchester, NH. I was really hoping to find a carb clinic someplace close by so I can learn more about my bike. Anyone else from this area?

hey there woolsac! Sorry I took some time to respond. I just got back from Bar Harbor myself about 2 days ago. We camped out for three nights at Hadleys Point campground which is right in the Acadia region. You are absolutely right about riding in this state, there are some very nice roads to traverse along! I appreciate the comment, thanks! Next time your up this way ,look me up! I'll show you around...

Ha, That is where I stayed too! Nice place. Where those guys there flying their "night kites"? They were pretty neat, I looked up at the sky one night and thought there was a UFO coming in to land. Turned out to be these weird kites with lights on them.

Ah Maine, The way life should be :D

Well ... I got a YICS tool and a set of MotionPro Carb Sticks. I guess I have a couple of electric fans -- too! My neighbors are all Harley-Guy's though. I'm booked in September for that Watkins Glen Classic and Vintage Car weekend ... (actually hoping to make the trip on my "New" 750 Maxim) ... I'm game. Let's do it! Billerica, Massachusetts do-able ... all you Carb-Clinic needing New Englander's???

Woolsac, we to far apart from one another. You were in the " C-field ", guessing from where you mentioned. Our site was behind you, thru the tree's across the dirt road and to the left on that little road that takes you to the bathroom in the "B and C" area

    Hey,

Billerica is totally doable for me! I am a novice with hands-on stuff on my bike other than the usual oil change, spark plug change, etc. But, I really want to get into the heart of my bike. Are there any "pros" out here in New England that could help us?

"Pros" ... Oh, no. I doubt that there will be any pros interested in attending. Probably just a few guys, a couple of manuals, a designated reader and looker-upper, and those who need to learn how to overhaul their Mik's or a Hi-tot's. It's going to be limited to "Hands-on" a couple sets of Parts-Carbs I have hanging around. If an attendee wants to get hooked-up to a set of sticks and set the sync ... we'll do that. If somebody brings a ColorTune ... we might even give that a try. My theroy is: "Teach a guy to clean ONE carb RIGHT. Perfectly. Nothing short of perfection. After you learn how to clean ONE carb -- getting it absolutely clean and 100% free of vacuum piston stiction ... your carb problems are SOLVED ... because the other one's you'll need to clean are just like the one you learned how to do! After you have completely stripped a set of carbs and learned to clean and "clean-tune" them -- RIGHT -- you'll have NO need of a pro. The pro will be YOU!

Well said, Rick! I didn't really mean "pro" in the sense that it might have sounded. I suppose in my mind, anyone who has even pulled carbs off their bike qualifies as a pro compared to my experience!

I'm located about 20 miles north of augusta (Waterville area). My family is up there not to far from you in Van Buran and across the border in New Brunswick. You're right about the hills and turns up there; awesome riding. We'll have to meet when the weather warms up.Wha-ya think? Lets see some pics of that mean max you got!
