In all your days ... have you ever seen a driver backrest setup that works on the seat of these old XJ's?

Only kind I have ever seen is a Luggage rack/sissy bar that can slide forward. Kind of hard to find them now and when you do they are pricey.

I saw a bag with a PVC liner that straps to the seat and acts as a backrest also. I don't recall the brand.

I've got one on mine. It was made by a company called KG and had a luggage rack with a sissy bar that slide forward or back with tubing. It's not a direct fit, but easily works using spacers. Unfortunately they're no longer in business.

I found a few through google shopping though. Several claim universal mounting.

I've got a factory unit on my bike. Nice to have but, as mentioned, they are hard to find and cost a small pile of gold. I can furnish photos and measurements if you would like to replicate.

I'd like to see them too. I have a buddy that can help me fab it. I'll bet there is enough general interest for you to post it.

    Greetings Guys.

Count me in on the driver backrest... going to invest in the fwd control kit & a shield...

Looking to make a run around the outside edge of MI lower peninsula...live here nut haven't seen all of it ...need to be comfy on bike.

I'm guessing a modified padded luggage rack attached to the rear shock mount that flips up & down???

    Thanx in advance,

    PY
